KEGG Pathway
The HOMD automatic genome annotation pipeline includes the prediction of metabolic pathways based on the KEGG terminology. The pathway prediction is done by looking for the Enzyme Commission numbers (E.C. numbers) curated and embedded in each of the Swissprot proteins that has significant sequence homology to the ORFs of a human oral microbial genome. These E.C. numbers are collected and mapped to the KEGG metabolic pathways. This article explains how to use the HOMD KEGG metabolic pathways discovered by the automatic annotation pipeline.
