Floyd's suggestion:

Hi All,

I have been thinking about the Sequence Meta Information page. I believe we need a more complex solution than that discussed yesterday.

Because subspecies occur and sometimes do and sometimes donít have individual HOT entries, we need flexibility. I think it is best solved by having multiple bug name entries and a name comment line. I would suggest:

1 Oral Taxon ID: 701
2 HOMD Name: Actinomyces odontolyticus (auto filled in from HOMD link to HOT #; not editableómust be linked so we change names in only one place)
3 NCBI Name: Actinomyces odontolyticus (from down loaded NCBI file, whatever they call it right or wrong)
4 Name Comment: To be filled in if there exists any discrepancy. This could occur with subspecies. This could occur if a name is changed and NCBI has not caught up. Any reason.

Let me know what you think. We can discuss it as a group if necessary.

Floyd
